When Piotto, a notorious bandit chief, and his daughter, Joan, take William Drew to their hiding place, Drew falls in love with Joan, who is also loved by his partner, John Bard. They toss a coin for the girl, and although Drew wins, Bard later steals his infant son and takes him to an eastern city. As Woodbury, Bard becomes a man of wealth and culture, and he remains evasive in responding to the questions of his son, Anthony, about his mother. Drew finds Woodbury, and in a duel John is killed. Swearing to avenge his father, Anthony finds a picture that enables him to identify his old home in Idaho, where he finds the grave of his mother and, nearby, the ranch of Drew. Following a series of exciting incidents, Drew reveals the secret of Anthony's parentage, and Anthony marries Sally Fortune, a hotel waitress.
