Ultimum Refugium (2011) DVD5

"Ultimum refugium" means "the last refuge" where we can hide ourselves when conditions are averse. That is our most fundamental position from which is being started. Secondly and consequently, it is a film-collage built up with documentary material by radical poetic means. The place: HERE (Czech Republic), THERE (Europe) and EVERYWHERE (Cosmos). The topic: THE END - understood in the whole range of its meanings. On one side the end as embodied in second thermodynamic law and on the other side the end as a tragedy that only mankind sees: the death. The film is an attempt to catch and let live both eternity and ephemeral moment in sound and image. It is a testimony combining both sublime and poor, sacral and profane, barbarous and volatile. Selection of playing professions: presidents, trade unions, free-mason, ship builder, ornithologist, old slavonic historian, designer, communist, priest, writer, prostitute, druid, sheep-killer and others.
