Fotografias (2007), La television y yo (2002) DVD9
The question of identity – of who one is and how one become that way – is complex, a question perhaps doomed to never be fully answered. Andres Di Tella, son of a mixed marriage between an Argentinian and an Indian, lived most of his life in Argentina and claims it wasn't until passing through England as a child that he became aware of his Indian legacy.

In Fotografias Di Tella starts an intimate search for a story his mother has taken to the grave and is soon to discover he has launched himself on a near-to-impossible challenge in which answers cannot be found through straightforward questions. Against all odds, and perhaps because he has no other real option, Di Tella begins a triple journey in pursuit of his family's past, present and future through Argentina, India and England.

The story of the rise and fall of Yankelevich is interwoven through a play of mirrors with that of the author's own grandfather, Torcuato Di Tella, another immigrant who built an industrial empire that subsequently vanished. The saga of the two families seems to embody the former aspirations of Argentina, which ended in the lost dream of a nation.
