Each year since 2006, Independent Studios and their staff of; writers, producers and directors, have come together to create what they feel true horror fans want to see. Each year they release 8 films that are supposed to be the best of the genre, and therefore these are the '8 Films to Die For,' pun intended. Even though After Dark features independent works, it still has been known to provide some excellent final products that can give Hollywood a run for its money anytime. Over the years Horrorfest has grown in its cult status and as such, they have been able to secure better known actors and directors to further fuel interest in the project. While not all of the 8 movies every year are amazing, to be honest some years it's a mixed bag.
